The Ember MIPS Helmet for Women by Giro – Classic design, modern protection
The Giro Ember MIPS helmet by Giro combines aesthetics with performance for ambitious female road cyclists. MIPS protects your head from angular impacts and dissipates energy laterally. The combination of a hardshell outer shell and In-Mold construction creates a high level of impact protection. Thanks to the Roc Loc 5 system, the helmet can be fitted to your head with just one hand.

Technology:
Hard Shell Construction
The robust helmet outer shell is made of ABS composite, fibreglass or carbon. It is glued to the foamed EPS inner shell.
In-Mold Construction
The polycarbonate outer shell is glued to the EPS inner shell, which increases the resistance of the helmet. It also makes it easier to shape vents, which means that In-Mold designs typically have better ventilation systems and a lighter weight.
MIPS
MIPS stands for ” Multi Directional Impact Protection System” and refers to a movable protection layer consisting of three components: an EPS liner and low-friction liner, which are then connected by an elastomeric fastening system. This layer protects the brain from oblique impact. The principle of the natural low-friction layer of the brain is adapted in order to minimise the forces that occur.
Roc Loc 5
The size adjustment mechanism is encased in a small housing. It can be adjusted in small increments with only two fingers. It also allows for height adjustment in three incremental levels.
Thermoformed SL Roll Cage
The Thermoformed SL Roll Cage is a reinforcement made of polycarbonate. It is 49% lighter than reinforcements in common helmets. It is also possible to use a 15% less compressed EPS foam, which contributes to the weight reduction. A high level of safety is maintained.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Internal ventilation channels and vents direct cool air around the head and expel excess heat.
